New forestry system at the National Property Board (SFV)

6 May 2020

At the beginning of 2020 Triona was awarded a procurement regarding requirements analysts for the National Property Board - Statens Fastighetsverk (SFV). The assignment includes analysing needs and producing requirements for SFV to support their forestry business in advance of an upcoming procurement

The assignment requires both experience of requirements analysis, GIS, and the forestry customer segment. Forestry operations is one of Triona’s prioritized industries where we have around 30 customers in the Nordics. Examples are Bergs Timber, Biometria, Holmen, Norrskog Wood Products, SCA, Setra, Skogdata, Sveaskog, and Stora Enso. It is especially rewarding for us to win both a new customer and an exciting assignment in this area. During this assignment we will make use of the knowledge we have amassed through the years working with system solutions for the complete forestry value chain, from plant schools, forestry planning, lumber flow process, production planning through systems for forestry machines (machine-GIS) and sawmills.

To be part of this process at an early stage and help a business produce the correct requirements to reach desired business benefits is something we are passionate about! The requirements in this assignment use agile methodology with sprints and in close cooperation with SFV. In this world we currently live in, with Covid-19, there has been challenges to carry out this work remotely. This in turn creates new requirements for both us and SFV regarding working methodologies. But with positive and committed people we have succeeded in making the best of the situation. We have devised a way of working which functions for all of us. We would have ideally preferred to meet face to face, but with collaboration and the right tools we have still succeeded with the most important – communication!

We look forward to helping SFV to firm up the requirements so they can move forward with their procurement and which results in a system which gives them desired business benefits.
