Timber by Pinja at Sandåsa Timber - now in commercial operation

Sandåsa Timber, with three facilities in Sörmland are now live with their business system Timber by Pinja. The system was delivered by Triona to their two sawmills in Åker and Forssjö. 

Sandåsa recently went live with their business system Timber by Pinja at their two sawmills in Åker and Forssjö. Timber by Pinja replaces Winsaw which was Sandåsa´s previous business system. An integration has also been developed so that Timber by Pinja can exchange packet data with SiPal. 

The entire sawmill operations are now supported by a new powerful business system – Timber by Pinja. In the first stage the previous system was replaced. Timber by Pinja is now used for sales, orders, stock, and invoicing as well as supporting package management through the whole process. In the next stage the sawmills will deploy the production planning module and include control of the raw material flow in the system. With this, Sandåsa gets traceability from raw material to finished product. From day one there is full support in the system for PEFC and FSC certifications. 

The next step in the implementation, planned for the autumn, is the deployment of Timber by Pinja at the wood processing plant in Sandåsa. 

In the implementation project three partners have worked together: Sandåsa, Triona, and Pinja. Triona has primarily been responsible for project management and training and Pinja for the system configuration, customizations, and integrations. The implementation between trusted partners has worked very well with regular project and steering group check points.

Timber by Pinja supports informed business decisions in all steps of the process as the actual status together with historical results is always available and updated in the system. 

The system development has taken place in close cooperation with our customers so we can adapt and support new requirements. 

Timber by Pinja is developed by the Finnish company Pinja which Triona started a partnership with in 2017. Timber by Pinja is currently  used by around 80 sawmills and other wood industries in Sweden, Finland, and the Baltics. Triona offers the Swedish wood industry a localized version of the platform including deployment, support and additional solutions such as C-Load. Timber by Pinja is modular and is suitable for both smaller companies and large groups with several units.
