Krönt vägval – The chargeable transport distance used for price calculations in the forest industry 

Each year, around two million forestry transport operations are carried out in Sweden. Biometria’s service, Krönt vägval, is used to calculate the transport fare–based distance from forest landings to industrial facilities. 

The service was developed by the former SDC together with Skogforsk and Triona and was first launched in 2009. Today, Krönt vägval calculates distance, route, and energy value, which can be used in transport sustainability reporting. The service is based on Triona’s TNE platform and is used for approximately 100,000 distance calculations every day.
